India and France will conduct the newest iteration of their bilateral military exercise from June 18 to July 1, 2025, with the aim of improving their combined operational capabilities across various domains, the Indian Army said.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Indian Army wrote: "The 8th edition of Exercise #Shakti, a bi-lateral #India and #France joint military exercise will be held from 18 Jun to 01 Jul 2025 at #LaCavalerie, #France."
 

Emphasizing the purpose of the forthcoming training exercises, the Army further stated: "The objective of the exercise is to increase joint military capability of both the forces to conduct Multi Domain Operations in a Sub Conventional environment."

The officials pointed out that the exercise will serve to develop interoperability between the two forces, as well as generate mutual trust, cooperation, and esprit de corps.

This collaborative effort is an expression of the intensifying strategic partnership between India and France and affirming their interest in cooperative defense interactions in the contemporary sophisticated global security landscape.
